Money!

Every week when I sort the laundry, Cole goes absolutely bananas. Daddy ALWAYS leaves change in his pockets and any money left there has been deemed "Monsie Money" and it goes to Cole. Cole LOVES money, he loves to stack coins and just stare at it. He has absolutely no concept of the meaning behind it, but he knows he likes it. Usually, I can con him into "helping" me with the sorting to get his Monsie Money. I let him play with it for a little while and then it has to go into his bank.

When we find some coins, he runs through the apartment yelling, "I found the money!". The best is when we find the rare $1 or $5, those are used for "buying berries". There is a Curious George episode where George is sent to the store to buy blueberries for their morning waffles. George gets sidetracked, of course, but to Cole, paper money is used to buy berries and no one can tell him different.

He also tells me that Daddy is "making the money" when he's at work. I'm pretty sure he thinks that those few precious coins that we find are what Daddy goes to work for. To him, the joy of getting those coins would be completely worth it.

I seriously think that's the cutest thing I've ever heard. "Monsie Money..." WHO KNEW?!?

How cute is that!!! Isn't it amazing how they think? Now if the money was orange, he would be content for life.

That's adorable! Mason got a new Cars wallet for his birthday and it had a crisp new $1 bill in it. I think that was among his FAVORITE gifts!
