This is Cole's drawing of Mickey Mouse. It may not seem like much, but it is a BIG deal for Cole. At the beginning of the school year, he could do nothing but scribble. Now he can write his name, some numbers and some other letters. And he can DRAW. Up until 2 weeks ago, he didn't draw anything but circles and apples (circles with a little line on top). He started with babies (he drew the cutest picture of Beanie, she had 6 arms) and now he's drawing all sorts of things, animals, trees, anything that pops into his head. It's amazing the steps he's taken this year. Cole has a language disorder that was discovered in January, it makes it difficult for him to comprehend and express language, especially abstract concepts. It's a learning disability, but it has no correlation to his level of intelligence. He receives speech therapy and 1 on 1 instruction to help him catch up to his peers in the areas he lags behind. A lot of his learning is visual as a result, and I think he may have discovered this as an outlet for that. I'm so very excited for him!

Great job, Cole!
great job! i understand how it is having a child with a disability. i've been working with eitan a lot on stuff micah takes for granted. but every accomplishment feels so huge as a result and it's so exciting to see him making progress.
i look forward to seeing more artwork from cole!
This is really awesome. We are extremely proud of our grandson. The only thing we regret is not being able to see him and our little Beani more often.
Love,
Mima an Poppa
That is awesome - yay, Cole!! Art has been so theraputic for Danny - I wonder if it might help Cole the same way.
If it's one thing I love, it's little kids first drawings. Cole's Mickey is adorable!
